3x3 Key shot describtion

1.      The plane is a key shot because of the freedom it is representing, you want to do something, just do it. That it what the whole thing is about, just doing what you want. However it is always easier looking as it actually is. But I guess that is why people like it, because they can dream having a live like that – an aspect I want to have in our video as well, making people admire something.
2.      Half dressed women, women their selves don’t mind seeing other women half dressed, as long as it is not sluty. They rather see it is a good point and would appreciate it.  Men do not mind either, because they are attracted by it and enjoy seeing it, and probably start dreaming, how good it must be being famous and being able to have all that. That is what I plan to do as well, attract both genders with our video.
3.      Presenting the name of the artist, and showing how well known he is by having own advertisement. Might be considerable in our video as well.
4.      The artist at work, showing what they do, to make sure the people recognize them on pictures, advertisement, videos, gigs and co. We could to this probably by editing a face in the video, singing the lyrics you can hear.
5.      Fancy car, and setting the location- not only to show how cool the locations are the video is made, as well to present a whole lifestyle and the easy going once you are like they are. It is a principle of making people wanting to be like the star is.
6.      People going crazy and wanting more of this unique quality the video, music is giving the crowd. When people are filmed going crazy they see that they can have fun two- that is what we considered as well, like for example filming a social.
7.      The private yacht just supports the feeling of freedom by being able to travel where you want to, but as well by the financial reason, what gives you sometimes just more possibilities.
8.      Palms, pool, people, sun and good music – all that equals good mood, people starting to dream again, especially when videos are set on holiday locations, because obviously they are just nice to be at. That couldn’t be filmed on school grounds, however does a nice sunrise in the morning over a frozen lawn have its mood as well.
9.      A big city, freedom, opportunities, and changes – things people look for their whole life, but then in a video it looks so easy to reach it and have it. It is all based on showing the people what they want, then they are happy and enjoy what they see. We could maybe film the easy life of the weekend and its pleasures.

Textual Analysis "Wash My World"

Cinematography:
The first shot is an establishing shot in a low angle, setting the scene. A big city with lots of things going on like people moving and cars driving, what gives you the impression of freedom but stress at the same time. The following shot is a mid shot of lots of half dressed girls in green shorts and white tight t-shirts. The mid shot of the television which is showing a close up of a mans mouth talking, makes the audience feel, he is important and people listen to him.  That gives the impression that he the man, who mouth you only can see so far is something like a leader who is speaking to his executive power to make them do something. That is supported by the following quick mid shots that are showing either people in a city polluting the world by using cars, producing waste and not being caring about the environment, or the women walking around and setting a good example by using bikes, being healthy and trying to convince people being environmental. In between you always see close ups of the man’s hands or his mouth saying something what is followed again by long shots of the girls. The next shot is a shot of close up of the man’s face what brings the effect of finally being able to see the mysterious man, the artist Laurent Wolf. A further close up shows an exhaust polluting the air, what made clear now that the video is about how the people don’t care about polluting the world and making it dirty. Followed by a low angle shot showing the girls walking in a line together, makes them mighty and big, what has the effect that people listen to them and do what they want. That is underlined by a long shot a the end where the girls are walking and coming closer and closer to the camera, as well it has kind of a savior effect.
Sound:
The sound is all based on the song itself because there are no diegetic noises. It is obviously a music video that was made after the song it was produced so the images are going with the sound/song that is played. For example like the part when the singer in the song is singing “Wash My World” and the girls in the video are jumping around and are actually cleaning. As well as when the Artist is singing the lines “Wash My World” even though you know it is not him singing because it is a woman’s voice singing the song. That is probably made to show the audience that he is the artist and possibly even produced the voice singing.

Editing:
The video has been full of special effects and is basically living of that, because the story line is not necessarily what the audience would expect to see. It is mix of half dressed women and the environmental problems we have nowadays. However was there a lot of fast editing going on what kind of showed both perspectives in on shit because of the fade ins and outs plus the fast editing.
The videos name and the artist face were edited in the video what made sure that people know whom the song is by and how it is called.

Mise-en-scene:
The whole video is set in a really weird way, by putting sexy girls and wastage and pollution in one video. However have both criteria been represented very well, like for example the girls in green tight shorts, which is on the one hand side attractive but on the other hand is green a really environmental colour and stands for alternative powers and a green healthy world. The setting of the place where the video has been made was well done as well, because the city life was presented really realistically with all the people driving around, being in traffic jams - a big variation of different cars.  However was lots of the setting surreal like the cleaning with a fire truck in the jungle and using washing powder to clean it. People have been as well massively tolerant with the situation what made the video again surreal even of the appropriate setting of the actors and the city/location of filming. However what I really liked is that this video is the first house music video I have seen that is not only focused on half dressed women, lots of drugs and crazy laser shows!

Identified Genre

We chose our song, Pjanoo & Mjusic by Madonna and Eric Prydz, which belongs to the genre Dance/House.
The typical traits of that genre are well known and represented by the Logo we created as well-as you can read further down.
Typical Traits:
- nice places, like big Cities (New York/Miami), or beaches, clubs, bars
- expensive, fancy cars, big private yachts
- half dressed women
- most of the time you see the Artist in it as well, mostly working with their DJ equipment
- people going crazy, drunk and making out
- wasted youth style, as already mentioned in our Logo creation
- alcohol, flashing lights, night life,...

Closer by The Kings Of Leon.

The Kings of Leon released there album “Only by the Night” in September 2008. And from the start Closer has become a very well liked dark gothic song, so with this they have had to create a music video which represents the true representation of the song.

The music video starts of  with the words Patricia, from hear the hole video is pictured in black and white, the director has done this to represent the dark urban feel of the video . the music starts and we follow a young man walking thro a room at a mid shorts and then there is a short reverse shot of him walking out of the room. As the drums kike in there is a cross cut of a hand with a ring on it, and then once again on the drum beat we come back to the young man on a buss looking out of the window, all of the short edits are at the speed and on the same beat so it makes it interesting to listen and watching the music on the beat. As the man is looking out of the window there is a close up of his nose and his eyes.
The necked seen we see his feet walking down the pavement and at the point there is a fast zoom out were we see the hole man walking with a hoody.  At this point the director is still making the image very dark , and is prorating the urban youth atmosphere to the video.

As the music careys on there is a constant fast zoom out which is carys on showing the man walking thro the street. And then once again on the beat there is a mid shot of the mans face,  this is the first time we have a full facial view of the mans face,  we see he is leistering to music thro his head phones, this is quite clever because this might represent that he is listening to the song we are also listening to. The necked edit is a hand held shot of the mans back walking throw the same street all very interesting!!! There is jump cut of him walking away from the camera. There is a fade to black are the necked scene is of the moon looking thro some tree branches. Then on the beat the lyrics start and there is a fast short of the man looking up from the flour to the camera, and then we go back to the feet walking along the pavement.
The necked part we have very fast edits which are very slick, two of the shorts are stills of the urban streets and bins and then there use the same short of the close up short of the mans nose and eyes. All of this are very fast edits which make the film much more interesting.
The necked edit is of the man walking down a street signing to the lyrics once again there are some very fast edits of him walking on side on shorts low shorts al sort of things which create a very fast slick feeling to the video. These fast edits include a women Turing round a looking at him, to him walking in a park, the fast edits carry on when he walks past a coffee shop, were the same women is looking at him walking past the shop window.  As this is hapering there is a short reverse short of the girl and the man and back to the girl in the girls shot there is a focus pull on another girl in the background.
The necked few shorts are all based on short reverse short in the Coffey shop and once again it is all based on very fast edits and makes the hole film very fast and silk.
The necked few scenes the director goes back to the urban street feel were there are motorbikes and yet we still see the man walking past the motorbikes and they still play on the part of the women looking at him.
I really like how they have done the fast editing all the way thro, but I feel that it is a little bit to much, there is one scene were he is stroking so tennis wire which creates a vey interesting image.
The necked scene we see a sun set in coaler, which is very different contrast compared to the black and white photography thro the rest of the video. Then we go back to the man walking thro the streets with his hood up and of Corse this is gone back in to black and white, the director plays on fast editing the hole way thro the video and he uses very similar scenes with similar back grounds.
The very last scene the man is on one side of  the road and the girl is on the otter side, there is a high angel pan following her running across the road and then this leads to them both getting with each other.

Over all it is a very nice slick music video with lots and lots of fast edits, I love the song and I feel the video works very well with the song.

Hi this is Will again

Well this the music video of Madonna Give it to me.  It is a insain music video and we both are inspired by the very fast montage of photos, in a Andy Warhol efeckt which looks grate, it alos creats a amazing atmostfear.   We also like the black and whit efeckt and the close up of the danse rotine..
Hey this is Will

well this is the amazing music videow by Swedish House Mafia, my self and Freddy are inspierd by this song and the music video and we wont to incorperate so aspects in to our video

Textual Analysis "One (Your Name)"

Cinematography:
The first show is an establishing shot that is at the same time a birds-eye-view shot showing a silver surface. The next birds-eye shot is showing the key element of the whole video, the DJ Pad, on which a person is pressing keys. Further close-ups are explaining the that this DJ Pad is making the music, this is underlined by another close-up shot showing the person changing the keys which you can hear. Another Point-of-view shot is showing the DJ Pad again on which the hand you can see is changing several key and buttons what has an effect on the sound. This gives the audience the impression of seeing live how the song is made and produced. A following close-up shows a had taking a microphone on which you can hear Pharrell Williams singing in the song what underlines the feeling of being entertained live. The next extreme close-up shows an eye in which inside you can see the DJ Pad again and the videos progress. That makes the video kind of unique because it is a style that seems to be new and never seen before. After that you see a POV again showing how the scene changed and the people started to celebrate and dance crazy. All that gives you the impression of an underground club and its different audience. Further birds-eye shots, POV’s and dutch tilts show the people dance wild and starting to act weird. All that gives you the feeling that they are drugged, what gets confirmed in the next mid shot where people are inhaling laughing gas out of the gas pipe. Another mid shot shows a woman dancing that has strong bright light in her background so that you can only see here shape. That gives the feeling that the video sells itself on a kind of sex-focused basis to attract men. Further close-ups show people in masks going crazy and getting close together, what shows indifference and underlines the impression of them being not their selves. A mid shot shows a person knocking out the DJ with a bottle and a further birds-eye show shows the DJ lying unconscious on the table. After that the camera falls down on the table next to the DJ and show her face and blood running out of her eye. All that makes it different to a normal club scene you imagine and leaves you behind with lots of questions you want to have answered.

Sound:
The sound is made really tricky because you can’t say if the song is diegetic sound or non-diegetic sound. However you can hear some diegetic sounds like the rat moving on the table, what just makes you thing where this location could be. However that presents the kind of style all this is about -underground music and not mainstream. Another tricky thing is the voice singing on the song because you can see a person tacking the microphone but you don’t actually see the person singing. Further diegetic sounds are a person spitting fire and people clapping to the beat, what actually fits really well in the song, as well as the sounds of gas escaping the bottle and people inhaling it. The best effect is probably when the DJ Pad gets moved and half unplugged and you can hear that on the music as well as you can see it. After this you can hear the bottle breaking that was used to knock out the DJ and the rat moving again, what is in my eyes the key of the video. It is the opening and the closing and the rat is different, it is white, as well as the audience and everything is different.

Editing:
In the video have been lots of specials and basically was the video living of all the fast cuts that made the video interesting and mysterious. You can see the camera pictures moving in the beat to the bass. As well there is the eye that shows what the camera films and has edited words in it, like the songs name, “One (Your Name)”. In addition are there fancy shapes likes stars moving through the picture as well as flames in which you can see the artists faces in strong bright colours. All that makes the video interesting and wanting for more.

Mise-en-scene:
The whole video is set in a really dark place that is kind of scary and uncomfortable. However during the video there are a lot of bright colours coming in what makes the video moving and varied. The people are wearing these bright masks that are nice because of the colour but really scary at the same time because you never can see a proper face and if than you see wide opened eyes with huge pupils and weird face expressions. Because of all that underground setting and the new vibes am I a big fan of the video even though I don’t particular like what the video shows I still think it is great and really well done. I like the song because of its genre and support mainly the idea of not doing what the rest is doing, in my eyes is it a new way of house music videos that used to show lots of beach, lightly dressed women and lots of champagne. I like, that this video is addressed to the crazy people, even though it is going a bit to far!
